This Fiamma di Re is a refined Freeform that interprets briar through a distinctly sculptural design. The tall, slender bowl features an asymmetrical profile opening upwards into a strongly undulating rim, creating a flowing line around the chamber and giving the pipe an instantly recognizable silhouette. A small area of natural plateau has also been preserved on the rim, providing an appealing textural contrast with the perfectly smooth surfaces.
The smooth polished finish places the expressive briar firmly in the spotlight, dressed in a luminous honey-golden tone. Long, closely spaced flame grain rises vertically along the sides of the bowl, following its development and emphasizing its upward momentum. Viewed from above, the character of the briar changes dramatically, with the rim displaying a dense pattern of small birdseye and swirling grain.
The relatively compact, clean-lined shank leads to one of the most precious details of the composition: the F.D.R. silver band. Broad and finely worked with an engraved and openwork geometric motif, the silver becomes a genuine decorative feature, creating an elegant highlight between the warm colour of the briar and the deep black of the mouthpiece.
The gently curved black mouthpiece continues the profile with visual lightness and carries the small Fiamma di Re emblem on its side. The combination of golden briar, bright silver and glossy black gives the pipe a sophisticated appearance without distracting from the distinctive architecture of the bowl.
