Fiamma di Re - Epica n. 27
This Fiamma di Re interprets the classic Brandy shape through a compact, firmly planted design made even more distinctive by its sandblasted finish. The bowl gently widens towards the base before tapering towards the chamber, creating the characteristic profile inspired by a brandy glass. The low, substantial shank flows naturally into the mouthpiece, giving the pipe a balanced and pleasantly compact silhouette.
The main attraction is the beautifully textured sandblasted briar. The dark finish allows warm brown and orange tones to emerge along the raised areas, producing a striking chiaroscuro effect that clearly reveals the structure of the grain. Vertical channels, small waves and irregular ridges animate the bowl, becoming denser and more pronounced towards its lower section.
The transition between shank and mouthpiece is particularly attractive: a smooth briar band, left in a warmer and brighter tone, interrupts the sandblasted texture and creates an elegant transition towards the glossy black mouthpiece. It is a subtle but highly effective detail, bringing together two different treatments of the briar while visually lightening the overall composition.
The chamber measures 19 mm in internal diameter, while the bowl has an external diameter of 41 mm. This pipe also features a Stand-Up design: the shape of its base allows it to rest securely on a flat surface without the need for a pipe stand, a practical feature perfectly suited to the solid proportions of the Brandy shape.
A characterful Fiamma di Re sandblasted Brandy Stand-Up, combining a classic shape with a strongly tactile finish. The contrast between the deeply textured briar, its warm highlights and the glossy black mouthpiece gives this piece a distinctive personality, ideal for those who appreciate both the visual and tactile appeal of a finely sandblasted pipe.
