This Fiamma di Re, graded 3 Corone, is a striking Freeform Stand-Up built around a distinctly sculptural design. The bowl progressively widens towards the top almost like a fan, creating a dynamic and deliberately asymmetrical profile. Its base has been shaped to allow the pipe to stand upright on its own, combining its unusual appearance with the practical Stand-Up feature.
The briar features a smooth polished finish in deep brown tones, crossed by long honey and amber flame grain that beautifully follows the expanding shape of the bowl. The strong colour contrast emphasizes the natural movement of the grain, particularly across the broad side surfaces, where it appears to radiate outwards in harmony with the geometry of the pipe.
The upper rim retains a generous area of natural plateau, dark, irregular and richly textured. Viewed from above, the chamber measures 20 mm in internal diameter and is surrounded by a broad plateau rim reaching an external diameter of 50 mm. This intentionally rugged surface provides a dramatic contrast with the highly polished sides of the bowl.
One of the most distinctive elements is the large light-coloured shank extension, shaped with flared ends and marked by the material's natural dark inclusions. Besides providing a striking chromatic contrast with the briar, it becomes an integral part of the pipe's design and leads into the long, tapered and gently curved black mouthpiece, embellished with the small Fiamma di Re emblem.
The 3 Corone grading completes a Fiamma di Re of remarkable personality, in which the artisan deliberately plays with contrasts: polished briar and natural plateau, dark tones and a pale extension, flowing surfaces and a strongly geometric profile. An unconventional Freeform conceived almost as a small sculptural object, particularly appealing to collectors who appreciate the most imaginative and individual side of Fiamma di Re craftsmanship.
