Jacono - Rook n. 64
This Jacono Bent Billiard Stand-Up interprets the classic Billiard through generous proportions and a gentle curvature, giving the pipe a harmonious and well-balanced profile. The bowl retains a relatively tall appearance before becoming progressively rounder toward the heel, flowing naturally into the substantial, slightly rising shank.
The smooth finish allows the character of the briar to take center stage. Long, light vertical grain runs along the sides of the bowl, emphasizing its height, while the pattern becomes tighter and more animated around the lower portion. Warm tones ranging from honey brown to copper enhance the natural variations of the wood without obscuring its grain.
A subtle yet effective detail is the thin black band set into the shank, briefly interrupting the continuity of the briar while visually echoing the stem. The glossy black stem follows a graceful curve, extending the rising line of the shank before gently descending toward the bit and giving the pipe the elegant flow associated with a Bent configuration.
The bowl has an internal diameter of 20 mm and an external diameter of 43 mm, proportions that give it a substantial presence while preserving an elegant silhouette. Its Stand-Up configuration completes a Jacono whose main attraction lies in the natural beauty of the briar, enhanced by clean shaping and carefully restrained contrasts.
