This Fiamma di Re Rhodesiart belongs to one of Andrea Pascucci's most personal projects: a series conceived to explore and reinterpret the classic Rhodesian shape, transforming its proportions, geometry and details without losing its original identity. The name Rhodesiart expresses precisely this philosophy, conceptually bringing together the Rhodesian and the art of creative craftsmanship.

In this example, the Rhodesian takes on a low, compact and highly distinctive configuration. The bowl retains the traditional rounded development of the shape, but Pascucci emphasizes its personality through a strongly defined central line that visually separates the lower body from the upper dome, almost creating the impression of two overlapping volumes. The result is an original and immediately recognizable silhouette, far removed from a merely conventional interpretation of the Rhodesian.

The worked briar is presented in a deep black finish, with a strongly tactile surface that catches the light through ridges, depressions and irregular textures. The treatment extends from the bowl onto the shank, reinforcing the bold character of the pipe, while the line encircling the bowl creates a precise geometric interruption and emphasizes the characteristic architecture of the Rhodesian family.

Particularly significant is the silver band, an element that is not merely decorative but forms part of the Rhodesiart philosophy itself. Pascucci extended the experimentation of the series to its silverwork as well, using silver as an additional expressive element and dedicating different interpretations to iconic historical figures. On this example, the substantial silver mount also provides an elegant contrast with the black briar and mouthpiece.

The long, almost straight black mouthpiece continues the low line of the shank with great visual clarity, balancing the substantial presence of the bowl. With a total weight of 48 grams, the pipe has a substantial yet well-proportioned construction.

More than simply a Rhodesian, this Fiamma di Re Rhodesiart embodies Andrea Pascucci's idea of taking a historic pipe shape and turning it into a field for personal experimentation: a distinctive piece in which tradition, creative research and Italian craftsmanship come together.
