Regina Scarlatta - n. 119
This Regina Scarlatta offers a distinctive interpretation of the Tulip shape, with a slender, organic bowl that opens towards the top and culminates in an angled, deliberately irregular rim. Its profile effectively recalls the corolla of a flower, while the lower part of the bowl flows smoothly into the long shank, creating an elegant and dynamic silhouette.
The briar is enhanced by a deep and highly expressive sandblasted finish, particularly evident across the bowl, where it reveals the natural grain through pronounced grooves, ridges and variations in depth. Warm shades of brown and amber, interspersed with darker areas, further emphasize the sandblast pattern and give the surface a strong tactile character.
The long shank continues the pipe's slender, gently rising line before meeting the black ebonite mouthpiece, tapered and subtly curved. The contrast between the uniform black ebonite and the varied tones of the sandblasted briar creates a particularly harmonious composition while preserving a strong visual identity.
The Stand-Up configuration allows the pipe to rest independently, adding practicality to an already distinctive design. With a 20 mm internal diameter and a 40 mm external diameter, this Regina Scarlatta Tulip stands out for the combination of its unusual bowl geometry and deep sandblasted finish, two elements that define the character of the entire piece.
