... someone who wants to buy their first pipe? Choosing a pipe is always a very personal matter. To enjoy a pipe, its owner must feel completely at ease with it. It should suit the smoker’s personality and character. But there are a few guidelines you might like to bear in mind when choosing a pipe.
1. A pipe should be as light as possible, and your first pipe should preferably be fairly small.
2. It’s a good idea to start with a straight or slightly bent pipe. You will need a little more experience before you will be able to keep the more heavily bent pipes under control.
3.The most important thing, however, is to choose a pipe with a natural finish. Varnished or painted pipes tend to smoke hot.
